Nominations open for SC 2018 Community Service Award

Good news for student-leaders and student-servants out there! Strathfield College is officially accepting nominations for its 2018 Community Service Award, an annual recognition of the school’s most-accomplished international student who has contributed to a worthy cause as a member of a local community organization in New South Wales.

To qualify, the student must have made a significant difference in the lives of others. Sound simple enough? Here are a few more eligibility criteria:

  • The nominee holds an international student visa that is valid until the end of 2018
  • The nominee has demonstrated a recent (last 12 months), value-adding achievement or contribution to the local community
  • The nominee is/will be enrolled in a Strathfield College VET course within 2018.

Only one winner will be chosen; he or she will get a $100 voucher and will represent Strathfield College in the NSW International Student of the Year 2018 –  VET Category. Strathfield College Diploma of Business student Yam Prasad Dhital won the 2017 NSW International Student of the Year award. He organises charitable events together with the Australian-Nepalese community and works as a student mentor at Strathfield College. He once saved a child trapped in a burning building of his neighbourhood too!

Entry forms are available either at the reception or at Student Services (Room 407) in the Mary Street campus. Nominations will be closed on 23 March 2018 and the winner will be announced on 16 April 2018.
