On the day we had a multicultural lesson and a very interesting quiz. We also had a very special guest: Brendan ‘Japangardi’ Kerin. Brendan is a proud Aboriginal man who has cultural connections with two tribes: Arrernte in Alice Springs and the Northern Territory and Barkindji, which covers the area from Lake Mungo all the way along the Murray River to Wilcannia. He shared some of the aboriginal traditions like his dance, habits and customs with our students.
After that, the students organised a food tasting with different countries’ traditional dishes. Then we got ready for the amazing Master chef Competition where two of our best chefs delighted us with their special dishes.
By the end we had the National costume best dressed competition where some of the students dressed up and after voting, the winner got a very nice prize.
We really enjoyed the day, we learnt a lot about inclusiveness in Australia and other countries and at the same time everyone had a lot of fun.
