We celebrated Australia day with a traditional BBQ with our students and we had a lot of fun!
What are we celebrating?
On Australia Day we come together as a nation to celebrate what’s great about Australia and being Australian. It’s the day to re-commit to making Australia an even better place for the future.
Why the 26th of January?
We celebrate Australia Day on 26 January because it is the anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet of 11 convict ships from Great Britain, and the raising of the Union Jack at Sydney Cove by Captain Arthur Phillip, in 1788. We organised a BBQ on SC’s balcony for all our students and trainers and we had a great time. Everyone was dressed up in Aussie colours and enjoyed having their pictures taken. VET trainers Miguel and Charles were in charge of the BBQ and they did a great job! Also, all the English teachers organised enjoyable activities like the Vegemite Challenge which was really fun.
